New Career-High Leads Bonomi to NAIA Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week

The opening week of Sun Conference play belonged to Laura Bonomi of Southeastern (Fla.), as the senior outside hitter delivered a pair of dominant performances to lead the Fire to a 2-0 conference start and earn PrestoSports NAIA Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week recognition.

Bonomi was nearly unstoppable across two four-set victories, averaging 6.13 kills per set while recording 49 total kills on a .299 attacking percentage. The native of Ceto, Italy, also showcased her all-around impact by adding 45 digs and six service aces during the week.

She opened conference play with a career-best performance against New College of Florida. Bonomi hammered home a career-high 26 kills, hitting .303 while adding four service aces and 28 digs in Southeastern’s 3-1 victory. Her 6.50 kills-per-set average and seven digs per set highlighted one of the most complete matches of her career.

Three days later, the senior continued her offensive surge in another 3-1 win, this time at Ave Maria (Fla.). Bonomi tallied 23 kills on a .295 hitting percentage while contributing 17 digs and two service aces. She averaged 5.75 kills per set.

For the week, Bonomi generated 55 total points, averaged 5.63 digs per set, and committed just 11 attacking errors on 127 total swings.
