KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jenna Brown of College of Saint Mary (Neb.) helped the Flames overcome a 26-8 shot deficit as she picked up PrestoSports-NAIA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors in the fourth installment of the weekly award.
The hometown goalkeeper put on a show up north in Mitchell, S.D., last week, helping the Flames pick up their fourth straight victory and this one against the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers was a grind in goal for Brown. Across her 90 minutes between the posts, she tallied 17 saves, dropping her goal against average in that four game stretch to .25.
As CSM’s go-to goalkeeper this season, the senior is on a roll posting 33 total saves and 6.60 saves per game so far this season, she sits at a .786 season save percentage with a pair of shutouts as well.
The Flames (4-2-0) and Brown are back in action on Sept. 23 for more GPAC action against Mount Marty (S.D.) (3-0-3). Both CSM and MMU are 1-0 in conference action.
