KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tennessee Southern sophomore, Millie Rayner lifted the Firehawks to a pair of Southern States Athletic Conference victories last week with nearly a dozen goals and 26 shots as the High Halstow, England, native earns PrestoSports-NAIA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors.
The sophomore sparked the UT Southern attack multiple times across both matches last week kicking things off with a seven goal and three assist performance against Wesleyan (Ga.) as she put .70 percent of her total shots on frame (12-of-17). The goals didn’t stop there for Rayner as she continued to fuel the Firehawks offense two days later against Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) with four more goals.
Scoring nearly a third of the teams 38 total goals across two games last week, UT Southern leads the nation as the more potent attack with 73 goals through seven matches played and an average of 10.43 goals per game.
Rayner and Company step back on the pitch against Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) on Sept. 22 for a non-conference match before jumping back into SSAC action on Sept.26 against Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.).
