SCAD Savannah (Ga.) Edges Dalton State (Ga.) on Final Day in Michigan to Claim 2026 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship
Texas Wesleyan’s Makena Junkin claims one-stroke individual championship
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Makena Junkin of Texas Wesleyan, who was the 2026 individual medalist, is among 15 student-athletes named NAIA Women’s Golf First-Team All-Americans for the 2025-26 season, headlining a list of 45 total honorees on the 2025-26 NAIA Women’s Golf All-America Teams, released Thursday, June 4.
The Association also recognized its 2025-26 Coach of the Year, Chris Kamys, head coach of the 2026 NAIA National Champion SCAD Savannah (Ga.). Kamys coached the Bees to their fourth tournament title of the season in the national championship and their second NAIA Women’s Golf Red Banner.
Dalton State (Ga.), Keiser (Fla.), SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) each had multiple players represented on the First Team. William Carey (Miss.) is the only team to have a representative on each of the three teams.
One award remains for the 2025-26 NAIA Women’s Golf season, as the 2025-26 NAIA Player of the Year will be announced at a future date.
